#meetourstaffMonday Everyone, say hello to Aderienne! She started working for Magdala a week ago and as House Supervisor Shon puts it, "she has jumped right in with the clients." Shon continued, "she's building relationships, bringing joy and light to the house environment, and helping clients clean and organize their apartments." Aderienne has participated in social activities with thr residents at Augusta Group Home and engaging residents by playing a board game. "I thought i was going to beat Mark at playing Chess, " said Aderienne. "He beat me 7 times." Aderienne has enjoyed helping clients decorate
for Halloween and preparing meals.
The residents in our group homes have daily chores. Here's a picture of one of our residents washing the dishes before dinner. #magdalafoundation2018
Say hello to Shon! Shon started with us in September as our newest Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional and House Supervisor (QDDP/HS) at August Group Home in North County. Shon says he's enjoying helping clients personalize their apartments. "What I enjoy most about working at @magdalafoundation is the everyday success I see clients achieve. I enjoy supporting clients in creating normalcy in their homes and I enjoy being around coworkers who live to advocate on behalf of our clients, " said Shon. In his spare time, Shon spends most of his time with his foster sons, going shopping, listening to music, and going to church.
Say hello to our newest Program Assistant, Reacia! She has worked for the Magdala Foundation at the Maury Group Home for four months. #meetourstaffMonday Say hello to Diane! Diane has worked on and off for Magdala since 2009. She has served in many capacities: Program Specialist, House Supervisor, just to name a few. Because of her experience, she has assisted the new House Supervisor, Tanya at Benton Park Group Home in budgeting for the residents. "Diane is very knowledgeable about the ladies and she has helped to make my transition as the supervisor at Benton Park smooth, " said Tanya. Diane says she loves the get-togethers at Magdala. "It is the only time that all 5 houses get together. It is fun to get to see everyone!" She also enjoys taking the ladies (residents at Benton Park) out shopping, going to the movies, and eating out. What I most enjoy about working at Benton Park, is seeing the ladies plan for long-range goals and then achieving them, " said Diane.
